Corporate Social Responsibility

We take our corporate responsibilities very seriously and a summary of our beliefs, culture and policy is outlined below.  A key founding principle of Amoria Bond is that all actions have an impact and it is important to make sure that these actions have a positive effect.

Corporate Responsibility Policy Overview

Ethics & Beliefs

One of the key founding principles of Amoria Bond was the belief that all actions have an impact and it is important to make sure that these actions have a positive effect.  This belief underpins our business culture and outlook as well as shaping the behaviour of the organisation.

Culture

That belief is instilled into our culture through our Cultural Framework – this sets clear expectations for all employees, at all levels, to guide them in their everyday decision making.

At a corporate level, it guides all of our business interactions, strategies and decisions as well as forming the basis of our Corporate Social Responsibility policy.  This policy sets out our commitments and then translates those into achievable objectives which are reviewed on an annual basis.

Policy

Our targets are:

  • To be awarded the Disability Two Tick Accreditation
  • To gain Investor in People accreditation
  • To reduce our carbon footprint by 15% from 2.68 tonnes per person per year to 2.28
  • To improve the living conditions of those living in the shanty town of Las Laderas, Peru through the Amoria Bond Charitable Trust.
  • Improve the results of our cultural survey.

The Amoria Bond Charitable Trust

We believe that it is important that every person who is able to makes a positive contribution to the lives of those less fortunate. We encourage Amoria Bond employees to give something back to their local community as well as the wider global community through a range of initiatives co-ordinated and funded through the Amoria Bond Charitable Trust.  The Trust was established in 2009 and to date, has raised over 100k euros for various charities and causes around the world as well as facilitating the resourcing to fulfil tangible legacy projects in line with our key objectives.

The Trust has been set up to meet the following objectives:

  • To advance the education of young people by providing for the provision of facilities for their education
  • To promote or assist any charitable activity directed to the care or special education of people who have learning difficulties or are physically disabled or suffer from mental health problems
  • To promote or assist any charitable activity directed to the relief of poverty caused by disability, social or economic circumstances

One of the main projects worked on by the Amoria Bond Charitable Trust has been to help fund and build 100 homes for those living in the Las Laderas area of Peru. The final tranche of 30 homes were built in the summer of 2017. Las Laderas is an impoverished township on the outskirts of Lima where the majority of inhabitants are employed on a migrant or day labourer basis, which means that they are often unable to afford their own home. Working with the Project Peru charity, employees from Amoria Bond have donated and fund-raised as well as giving their time and labour to help to build these houses. The wider business supports the scheme through company donations and fundraising activities taking place on a regular basis.  In addition, every Christmas a donation of food hampers and clothing is sent to the people living in this area of Peru.

The Amoria Bond Charitable Trust has also helped other causes across the world. When an earthquake hit Nepal in 2015 causing significant loss of life as well as hardships to the survivors, the Amoria Bond Charitable Trust helped to raise funds for medical and food supplies for one of the worst affected areas. Other charitable initiatives have seen the company donate and deliver computer equipment to disadvantaged children in Africa who otherwise wouldn’t have had access to computers and other IT devices.

Each of the four Amoria Bond offices support charities and causes local to their area.  The Manchester office recently helped a local school to re-furbish and re-stock their library which had fallen into disrepair.  The Singapore office has made a donation of funds and employee time to the ‘Willing Hearts’ charity which provides free meals to elderly and vulnerable people. The office in Amsterdam has been heavily involved in fund raising and co-ordinating donations of toys for the SO DE Heldring children’s home.  The Cologne teams have been supporting the ‘Kinderkrankenhaus‘ which is a local hospital for children affected by cancer.
